# Double Marker: Add markers to a  task

# Add markers to a Double Marker task

As a school admin, you can add the people who will mark responses for a task. Have each marker's email address ready before you begin.

## Add marker email addresses

1. Sign in to [Double Marker](https://double.nomoremarking.com/), open **Tasks** and select the correct task.
2. Open **Marking Overview**, then expand **Set up Markers**.
3. Enter an address in **Marker email address** and select **Add marker**. Repeat for each marker.
4. Check that every address appears in the marker list and is spelled correctly.
5. Select **Confirm all marker emails added** when the initial list is complete.

You can add someone who is new to Double Marker or someone who already has an account, including an admin for this task. Each email address can appear only once on the same task. Markers are added to the task you selected, so check the task before entering addresses.

## What happens next

Adding an email address does not itself send a marking invitation. Markers receive access to their work when response items have been allocated and the marker emails are sent. If a marker has not received their email, check that their address is correct and that allocations and emails have been completed for the task.

You can still add markers after confirming the initial list. If allocations already exist, Double Marker assigns a new marker a random sample of **unallocated** response items; it does not move existing assignments. Read any warning shown after adding them, as there may be fewer unallocated items than expected, or none left.

Before you confirm the list, removing a marker releases their assignments and deletes any marks or voice notes they created. After confirmation, you cannot remove them from **Set up Markers**. If marking has started, marker deletion is handled in **Marker Statistics**.
