# Double Marker: Download pupil booklets

# Download pupil booklets in Double Marker

Once your pupil list is ready, you can download personalised booklets from the **Pupils** page. Check the names and class groups first, as these details appear on the booklets.

## Download booklets for pupils who write by hand

1. Sign in to [Double Marker](https://double.nomoremarking.com/), open **Tasks** and select the correct task.
2. On the **Pupils** page, select the pupils whose booklets you need. Leave everyone unselected to download booklets for the whole list.
3. Select **Download Booklets** and wait for generation to finish.

A single pupil's PDF booklet opens in a new browser tab. When you download booklets for several pupils, you receive a ZIP file containing their individual files. Print the PDFs for pupils who will write by hand.

## Export a Word booklet for a pupil who types

For a pupil who will type their answers, set **Typed** to **Yes** on their row in the pupil list. This is how you choose the Word export for that pupil.

1. Select the pupil, then select **Download Booklets**. Their editable Word booklet (`.docx`) downloads. If you download several pupils' booklets together, the ZIP contains Word files for pupils marked **Typed** and PDFs for the others.
2. Open the Word document and have the pupil type their answers into its response areas.
3. When they have finished, export the completed Word document as a **PDF**. Check that every page is present and that its pupil and page identifiers remain visible.
4. Upload the PDF through the task's **Scan Uploads** page. The upload accepts PDFs, not Word documents.

## Add spare pupils

Spare booklets are useful when you need extra copies for pupils who were not on the original list.

1. On the task's **Pupils** page, select **Add Spare Pupils**.
2. Enter how many you need, from **1 to 9** at a time, then select **Add Spare Pupils** and confirm.
3. The new entries appear in class **Spare** with numbered spare names. They are selected automatically.
4. Select **Download Booklets** to download their booklets. Adding spare pupils does not start the download.
5. Keep a record of which pupil uses each spare. When you know their details, use the **Edit pupil** pencil icon to update the spare entry.

Pupil changes, including adding spares and changing the **Typed** setting, are restricted after scan confirmation, marker allocation or marking begins.
