# Upload students to Automark

To create your answer sheets, you need to upload student lists to automark. The student lists are unique to each progression, so every time you create a new progression you need to upload a new set of students.

There are two formats you can use, depending on what you want to do.

## Format A: All students will take every topic in the progression

**Required**
**First Name** The first name of the student. eg. Amiliah
**Last Name** The last or family name of the student. eg. Alenzy
**Gender** eg. M / F
**Date of Birth** eg. 2000-12-13
**Group** The teaching group or class eg. 7xg

**Optional**
**PP** The pupil premium status of the pupil (England only) eg. N / Y
**SEND** The Special educational needs and disabilities status (England only) eg. N / Y
**UPN** Unique Pupil Number eg. A12345678. If you don't use UPNs then you can number the pupils from 1 upwards.

## Format B: Not every student will take every topic in the progression
For this purpose you can have one row per student **per subject**. The format is identical, with the addition of a Subject column. This format allows you to easily print off sheets for students who may take different options.

| For both formats, download the template and copy and paste your data into the template. 

## Uploading your data

Click on Upload Students, and you’ll see the following instructions.

Click on the Review button to check the students have uploaded correctly.
