Double Marker: Feedback
Understanding your Double Marker feedback reports
For every question marked through Double Marker, three feedback reports are available:
- An examiner’s report
- A teacher report
- A student report
Each report presents the results in a different way and is designed for a different audience.
Examiner’s report
The examiner’s report provides a group-level analysis of how pupils performed on the question. It highlights patterns across the group, including common strengths, weaknesses and areas for improvement.
You can generate the examiner’s report for:
- An entire year group
- An individual class
This report is particularly useful when reviewing overall performance, planning subsequent teaching or discussing the assessment with colleagues.

Teacher report
The teacher report contains a separate section for every student. It is designed for teachers and includes all the available assessment data, alongside individual feedback on each student’s response.
Use this report when you want to:
- Review individual students’ performance in detail
- Compare performance across a class
- Identify students who may need additional support
- Plan individual or whole-class follow-up teaching
Because it contains detailed data and uses teacher-facing language, this version is intended for internal use rather than being returned directly to students.

Student report
The student report also contains a separate section for every student, including individual feedback on their response.
However, unlike the teacher report, it is specifically designed to be returned to students. The feedback is presented in clearer, more student-friendly language and focuses on helping each student understand what they did well and how they can improve.
Use this report when you want to share personalised feedback with students after the assessment.

Which report should I use?
Report | Audience | Level of analysis | Best used for |
|---|---|---|---|
Examiner’s report | Teachers and departments | Whole year group or individual class | Identifying group-level patterns and planning teaching |
Teacher report | Teachers | Individual students, with full assessment data | Detailed analysis, monitoring and intervention |
Student report | Students | Individual students, using student-friendly language | Returning personalised feedback directly to students |
The three reports are designed to complement one another: the examiner’s report provides the overview, the teacher report provides the detailed individual data, and the student report provides feedback that can be shared directly with each student. |
