Double Marker: Invigilator instructions

Mock Exam Handling & Collection Instructions

1. Booklet Barcodes & Pupil Details

  • Each booklet contains a unique QR code and pupil details.
  • Important: Any page that is not correctly barcoded cannot be marked by AI.

2. Spare Papers

  • Always keep spare papers to hand in case a pupil's original paper is lost or spoiled.
  • Spare papers have generic barcodes indicating they are spares; these will be digitally linked to the correct pupil later in the process.

3. Exceptions Requiring 100% Human Marking
You must alert the Mock Supervisor to flag a paper for 100% human marking if a pupil:

  • Writes on additional pages that do not have barcodes.
  • Writes their answers in the wrong space or outside the designated boxes.

Note: These flagged papers will still be processed through our platform, but they will bypass the AI and be marked entirely by a human.

4. Typed responses

  • Pupils with special arrangements should use our pre-prepared word booklets to type directly into. These should then be saved and exported as PDFs for uploading.

5. Post-Exam Collection & Scanning

  • Ideal Setup: When collecting papers, try to ensure they are the right way up and in order, to speed up the scanning process.
  • System Fail-safe: If papers get mixed up, do not spend excessive time manually reordering them. Our scanning system is designed to automatically orientate and sort the pages.
