Double Marker: Overview

Here are your full instructions for the DoubleMarker trial. We recommend you print these out so you don't miss any key deadlines. Delays in completing any of these steps could result in your final results being delayed.

Create an account

You should by now have created an account on our DoubleMarker site. If you haven't received an invitation email, please let me know immediately.

All four mock papers have now been prepared, so when you log into DoubleMarker, you will be able to find all the available tasks for this mock. They are named as follows:

DM_2026_Nov_AQA_Lang_P1

DM_2026_Nov_AQA_Lang_P2

DM_2026_Nov_AQA_Lit_P1

DM_2026_Nov_AQA_Lit_P2

Prepare your CSV files and upload your data

You will need to upload your pupil data to each task you are undertaking separately.

Flag pupils with special arrangements who will be typing

Before downloading booklets, it is important that you signify which pupils will be typing their answers due to their special arrangements. These pupils' papers will be downloaded as Word for them to type directly into. It is not possible to later transfer answers from a PDF into a Word document or vice versa.

Download your booklets

After you have signified which pupils will be typing, you can download your booklets.

Confirm your marking team

In advance of uploading any scans, add your markers and confirm you have added all of your markers.

Scan and upload your scans

Following the date of your mock examination, you need to scan and upload the pupil responses to the correct task in your account. For example, the scans for Language Paper 1 must be uploaded to the task corresponding to DM_2026_Nov_AQA_Lang_P1. The processing of your uploads can take some time. Once you receive the confirmation that an upload has completed, you may leave the task processing in the background.

Confirm all of your scans have been uploaded

After allowing an hour or so for your scans to process, you must return to check the uploads have been processed correctly, alert us to any potential issues, and, most importantly once the issues have been resolved, confirm your uploads have been completed.

Confirm your absentee list

After you have confirmed your upload is complete, you will be presented with an absentee list. Again, you must confirm this absentee list.

Wait for us to run our AI processes and open your marking

Once you have confirmed your absentee list, we will run our AI processes. When the AI processes are complete, we will send out a unique marking link to all of your markers.

As your the mark progresses, you can monitor the progress of your markers. We would typically expect your marking to be complete within 5 days, but if you're working to a tighter data schedule, this might be compressed.

Confirm your marking is complete

To let us know that the marking has finished, make sure you confirm that marking is complete. If you are unable to confirm that marking is complete due to a marker being absent (for example), you can always toggle to see all marks in the marker interface and cover off any missing marks that require attention.

Wait for the release of your results

After the completion of your marking, you need to allow us 3 working days before we will confirm your final results. When we have finished checking and rescaling, we will let you know by email that your results and feedback are ready to view and download.
